Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick #6 super bulky yarn
Needles: Size US 10 1/2 single point knitting needles
Gauge: 10–12 sts / 4 inches
Sizes: women’s S/M (women’s size 6-8) and M/L (women’s size 8-10)
Pattern instructions:
[Make 2]
Cast on 46 (50 for M/L) stitches. Work in Garter Stitch for 12 rows.
Bind off 18 (20) stitches at the beginning of the next row. Finish row. Bind off 18 (20) stitches at the beginning of the next row- this leaves you with 10 stitches in the middle.
Garter Stitch remaining stitches for 8 3/4 (9 1/4) inches. Bind off.
How to finish the foldover slippers:

Here is what the piece looks like when you are finished knitting. It looks like the letter “T”. The upper part will become the back and side of the bootie. The thinner, bottom part will be the footbed.

Take one side of the upper part of the “T” and place it on top of the footbed.

Take the other side of the “T” and place it on top of the 2 layers. Now you can see the slipper shape begin to form.

Using a yarn needle, sew the bootie together at the toe. Sew through all 3 layers.

Sew the seam at each side. Turn the bootie inside out when finished.

Cozy Handmade Gifts
Handmade gifts are always meaningful, and knitted slippers are especially appreciated during the winter months. A pair of warm knit slippers makes a thoughtful present that combines comfort and craftsmanship.
These slippers make wonderful gifts for:
• holidays
• birthdays
• housewarming presents
• care packages
• cozy winter gift baskets
Many knitters enjoy making several pairs of slippers in different colors so they always have a handmade gift ready to give.
If you enjoy knitting giftable projects, you may also like patterns such as the Men’s Thick & Quick Hat Knitting Pattern or the Easy Men’s Beanie Knitting Pattern, both of which are quick winter accessories that pair nicely with slippers as a gift set.
Choosing Yarn for Knit Slippers
The yarn you choose will affect both the comfort and durability of your finished slippers.
Because slippers experience more wear than many knitted items, it’s best to choose yarn that is sturdy while still being soft and comfortable.
Some good yarn options include:
• wool yarn
• wool blends
• acrylic blends
• bulky yarn for extra warmth
Wool yarn is often recommended because it is naturally warm and durable. Acrylic blends are also popular because they are easy to wash and widely available.
Thicker yarns can make slippers especially cozy during the winter months.
Beginner-Friendly Slipper Knitting
Many knitters assume that slippers are complicated to make, but they are actually one of the most approachable knitting projects.
The construction of this Easy Foldover Slippers Knitting Pattern is designed to be simple and easy to follow. The slippers are worked using basic stitches and simple shaping techniques that many knitters already know.
Skills used in this pattern include:
• knit stitch
• purl stitch
• simple decreases
• seaming
Because the pattern uses these foundational techniques, it’s a great project for knitters who want to expand their skills beyond scarves and hats.

The Comfort of Hand-Knit Slippers
There’s something uniquely comforting about wearing hand-knit slippers. The soft fabric molds gently to your feet, creating warmth and cushioning that store-bought slippers often lack.
Many knitters find that handmade slippers become their favorite cozy house accessory.
The foldover cuff in this pattern adds an extra layer of warmth around the ankle while also giving the slippers a charming, classic look.
Whether you’re enjoying a quiet evening at home or sipping a warm drink on a chilly morning, these slippers add a comforting handmade touch to your day.
Using Up Leftover Yarn
Another reason knitters love slipper patterns is that they are excellent stash-busting projects.
Because slippers require relatively small amounts of yarn, they are perfect for using up leftover yarn from other projects.
You can experiment with different colors and textures to create unique slippers that reflect your personal style.

Hi Gina, love these and am going to make your baby version. Could you give me an idea of what sizes the women's are equivalent for the s/m and m/l? thanks.
Hi Gina, not sure if you received my last message-sorry, I forgot to click on "notify me". Could you give me approximate women's sizes for the s/m and m/l? thanks (I'm about to start on the baby booties also)
Hi! The s/m fits a 6/7 and the m/l is a 8/9
Hi! Can you please tell me which wool-ease you used for the adult booties? Was it the original medium worsted, chunky, or thick and quick? The yarn in your pictures looks thicker than the medium worsted I used for the baby version. Thanks for your time!
Hi- I used this yarn: http://www.michaels.com/wool-ease-thick-and-quick-yarn/M10111093.html
Is the yarn woolease thick and quick?
Yes, it is.
I'm a bit confused. In the baby pattern, as you go up in size, the amount of rows goes up. But for the adult size, as the cast on amount goes up, the rows you knit does not. Is this correct?
Is there a toddler size pattern? Size 3/4?
Yes, here it is: http://www.gina-michele.com/2016/11/easiest-toddler-slippers-ever-knitting.html
I don't know if I misread but what size needles do you use for the baby booties.
Size US 10 1/2 ☺
Hi. Could you tell me the size of needles and yarn for this pattern for a ladies size as Amazon has an ad on top of the needle size and yarn size and I can't seem to remove it thank you
Sorry about that! I fixed it. Size 10 1/2 straight needles
Sorry about that! I fixed it. Size 10 1/2 straight needles

My guy wears a toddler size 7 shoes too. I'm working on the updated pattern right now. I'll have a pattern posted (with the larger sizes) by the end of next week. Thanks for reading =)
Hi Michele, were you able to write the pattern for the toddler size slippers? Will I find it on this page along with the baby size pattern? Thanks again for your help.

I'm knitting these slippers for my women friends/relations for Christmas. Can you provide me with a pattern for men sizes?
