Double Strand Knit Hat

What is Double Strand Knitting?

Double strand is a knitting technique where two strands of yarn are held together and worked as one while knitting. This technique creates a thicker and more durable knit than using a single strand of yarn. It can also change the appearance of the fabric, making it look more substantial, fluffy or warm, depending on the types of yarns used.

This technique can be used in any type of knitting project and is a great way to use up leftover yarns or to add a new texture to a project. It can also be used to create a more consistent gauge when working with handspun or hand-dyed yarns. Double strand knitting can be done by holding the two strands of yarn together and working them as one, or by alternating between the two strands every few stitches.
