Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick (3 skeins) #6 super bulky yarn, approximately 250 yards needed
Needles: Size 13 knitting straight needles, US N-13 (9 mm) crochet hook (for the ties)
Gauge: Approximately 9 stitches and 12 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in Stockinette Stitch
Size: 2T
Finished Measurements: Approximately 24 inches around the chest and 14 inches from the top of the shoulder to the hem.
You Might Also Like
Pattern instructions:
Cast on 28 sts.
Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1 1/2 inches.
Switch to Stockinette Stitch.
Continue in Stockinette Stitch until the piece measures 8 inches from the original cast-on edge, ending with a Wrong Side row.
Shape Sleeves
Cast on 8 sts at the beginning of each of the next 2 rows.
44 sts
Continue working in Stockinette Stitch until the piece measures 13 1/2 inches from the original cast-on edge at the bottom of the Back, ending with a Wrong Side row.
Shape Neck and Divide for Fronts
Next Row (RS): Knit 16 sts and place these 16 sts on a stitch holder for the Right Front.
Bind off the next 12 sts for the Back neck.
Knit the remaining 16 sts for the Left Front.
The Left and Right Fronts will now be worked separately.
Left Front
Working with the 16 Left Front sts only, work 5 rows in Stockinette Stitch.
Begin increasing to shape the front neckline:
Next Row (RS): K2, yo, knit to end. 17 sts
Next Row (WS): Purl to the last 2 sts, yo, p2. 18 sts
Repeat these last 2 rows, increasing 1 stitch at the neck edge on every row, until there are 36 sts on the needle.
Continue until the sleeve section measures 11 inches from the sleeve cast-on edge, ending with a Right Side row.
Shape Left Sleeve
Next Row (WS): Bind off 8 sts, purl to end.
28 sts remain.
Continue working evenly in Stockinette Stitch until the front reaches the same length as the Back. When the sweater is laid flat, the front and back lower edges should line up.
Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1 1/2 inches.
Bind off.
Right Front
Return the 16 Right Front sts from the stitch holder to your knitting needle.

Now begin increasing at the neck edge:

Shape Right Sleeve
Next Row (RS): Bind off 8 sts, knit to end.

Finishing
Lay the sweater flat with the Fronts positioned over the Back.
