With the smaller needles, Cast on 96 sts. Join ends, making sure not to twist yarn and place a marker.
Work in P1, K1 ribbing for approximately 1 1/2 inches.
Switch to larger needles.
Knit one round.
Begin to work chart.
When you get to the 48th stitch, place a marker and repeat the chart. There will be 2 bats total.
Work until the piece measures 6 inches from the cast-on edge.
