Double Top Knot Baby Hat Sewing Pattern- a baby essential that takes only 10 minutes to make!
Baby hats are so easy to make and they’re great for scrap busting. I’ve made a bunch of these for River he wears them almost every time we go out. The soft jersey fabric is perfect for the warmer weather. These Double Knot Baby Hats are simple to make, even if you’re new to sewing. Just cut the pieces out (printable pattern link is included below), lay them on top of each other and sew around the sides and top. Jersey fabric doesn’t fray so you don’t even need to serge the seams. Turn right side out and fold the brim under and stitch down to give it a nice, clean look. Then, just knot the top and you’re finished!
Double Top Knot Baby Hat Sewing Pattern
Size 6-12 months
Supplies needed:
Jersey fabric (I like cotton jersey- you can use other types but cotton jersey is one of the easiest to work with)
Print and cut out the pattern. Fold the fabric over –right sides together– and place the pattern on top.
Cut out the pattern.
Sew around the sides and top, leaving the bottom open.
Turn right side out. Fold the brim under 1/2 inch and stitch down.
Double knot the top.
