Top Down Baby Sweater Knitting Pattern- an easy sweater that’s knit top down with no seaming!

Beginner Top Down Baby Sweater Knitting Pattern

In all my years of doing this blog, I’ve found that there are two kinds of knitters- those that don’t mind sewing seams and those that can’t stand it! If you’re in the latter group, this is the pattern for you! Usually knitting a sweater involves making 4 different pieces on single point needles (sleeves, front, and back) and then sewing them together.

This sweater is knit using circular needles. You start at the collar and work your way down. The sleeve stitches are put on a holder and finished off after you are done with the body. The sweater is knit in one piece and there are no seams to sew!

This sweater is a quick and easy knit that uses only 1 skein of yarn. It has 3/4 length sleeves and a loose fit.

This is what the piece looks like when you slip the 43 sts onto scrap yarn for sleeve. The scrap yarn acts as a large stitch holder.
