The first step is to remove the broken zipper using a seam ripper. You’ll have to pull out the stitching along the sides of the zipper and a small section on the waistband to free the top of the zipper. Then, you pin the new zipper in place and sew it using a zipper foot.

Supplies needed to repair your jeans:

Seam ripper

Replacement zipper

Sewing machine

Thread in jeans color and in topstitching color

Using a seam ripper and starting on one side of the zipper, pull out the stitching. You will also have to remove a small section of stitching on the waistband to free the top of the zipper.
