Yarn: Starlette yarn in Lime, Starlette yarn in Black (#4 worsted weight yarn), small amount of grey worsted weight yarn
Needles: Size US 9 Circular, 16 inch, Size 9 Double Point Needles
Gauge: 16–18 stitches and 22–24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in Stockinette Stitch

With the lime yarn, cast on 68 sts and join together. K2, P2 for 4 rows.
Knit in the round until the piece measures 6 inches from the cast on edge.
Shape crown:
(Switch to double point needles when needed)
Round 1: Knit 8, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (62 sts)
Round 2: Knit 7, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (56 sts)
Switch to black yarn
Round 3: Knit 6, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (49 sts)
Round 4: Knit 5, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (42 sts)
Round 5: Knit 4, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (35 sts)
Round 6: Knit 3, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (28 sts)

With the grey yarn, cast on 9 sts. Work in Stockinette stitch until the piece measures 3 inches. Bind off. Roll up and stitch closed.
Finishing:
Stitch bolts onto the sides of the hat above the ribbed brim. Add stitches using black yarn and a yarn needle.
