Knit in K1, P1 ribbing for 1 row. Knit in the round until the piece measures 6 inches from the cast on edge.
Shape crown:
(Switch to double point needles when needed)
Round 1: Knit 8, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (62 sts)
Round 2: Knit 7, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (56sts)
Round 3: Knit 6, knit 2 together, repeat across round. (49 sts)
