Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Yarn in Black, #4 worsted weight yarn, small amount of #4 weight white yarn
Crochet Hook: size US J10/6mm
Also needed: fiber-fill, yarn needle, pipe cleaners
Gauge: not necessary for this project
Size: spider body measures approximately 7 inches long

Pattern instructions:
For the body:
With the black yarn, ch 2.
Round 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
Round 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. (16 sc)
Rounds 3-20: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Next Round: *1 sc in the next 2 sc. Sc 2 together*, repeat across round (12 sc)
Next Round: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Next Round: *1 sc in the next 2 sc. Sc 2 together*, repeat across round (9 sc)
Fasten off. Stuff the body with poly fill. Sew opening closed.
For the Head:
With the black yarn, ch 2.
Round 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
Round 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. (16 sc)
Rounds 3-7: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Next Round: *1 sc in the next 2 sc. Sc 2 together*, repeat across round (12 sc)
For the Eyes:
With the white yarn, ch 2.
Round 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Finishing:
This is what the body should look like after it has been stuffed the opening has been sewn closed.
Push the safety eye through the white circle and through the head. Secure in the back.
Repeat with the other eye.
Stuff the head and sew it onto the body.
Stick 4 pipe cleaners in each side. You can add a little glue to the ends before sticking them it so they’ll hold better. Bend the pipe cleaners as pictured. I attached them to the wall using thumbtacks.
