Snowflake Ornament Crochet Pattern

Yarn: #4 worsted weight yarn
Crochet hook: U.S. G/6 (4 mm)
Also needed: Fiber fill, yarn needle
Size: measures approximately 3 1/2 inches across
Pattern instructions:
For the snowflake back:
Chain 2.
*Round 1: (RS). Ch 6 sc in second chain from hook. PM on first st. slip stitch to join.
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around. 12 sc.
Round 3: (1 sc in next sc. 2 sc in next sc) 6 times. 18 sc.
Round 4: 1 sc in each sc around.* Sl st in next sc and fasten off.
Snowflake Front
Work from * to * as given for Snowflake Back, do not fasten off. Hold Snowflake Front and Back WS tog with sl st of Snowflake Back aligned with next st of Snowflake Front.
For the Snowflake Points:

• Join all rounds with sl st to first st.
First Point:
Working into sts on both Snowflake Front and Back as follows:

**Round 1: 1sc in each of next 3 sc of Snowflake Front. Turn work so Snowflake Back is facing, work 1 sc in each of next 3 sc aligned with 3 sts of Snowflake Front. Join. 6 sc.
Round 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join. 6 sc.
Round 3: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 2 sc. 3 sc in next sc) twice. Join. 10 sc.
Round 4: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 4 sc. 2 sc in next sc) twice. Join. 12 sc.
Round 5: Ch 1. (Sc2tog) 6 times. Join.
Stuff Snowflake Point lightly.
Round 6: Ch 1. (Sc2tog) 3 times. Join.
Fasten off, leaving long tail. Using long tail, weave through tops of sts in last round and pull tight to close.**
Second to Fifth Snowflake Points: Join yarn with sl st to next unworked sc of Snowflake Front. Ch 1. Beg in same space as slip stitch ,work from**to**as given for First Point.
Repeat Second Point 3 times more – 5 Snowflake Points made.
Stuff Snowflake lightly.
Sixth Point: Work as given for Second Point for Sixth Snowflake Point – 6 Snowflake Points total. With yarn needle, whip stitch Snowflake Front and Back together in spaces between each Snowflake Point. Weave in all ends.
