Easy Crochet Crop Top
Yarn: Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton in Orchid ( 3 skeins)
Crochet hook: Size U.S. 7 crochet hook
Gauge: 18 sts and 18 rows = 4 inches in sc/ch-1 pattern
Sizes: S, M, L (Bust measures 38 inches on the size Small)
Pattern instructions:
Front and Back (make alike)
Ch 82 (92–100).
Row 1: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. *Ch 1. Skip next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * to end of row. Turn. 81 (91–99) sts (sc and ch-1 spaces).
Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next sc. Rep from * to last ch-1 sp and sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Row 3: Ch1. 1 sc in first sc.*Ch1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from* to last 2 sc. Ch1. Skip next sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows of sc/ch-1 pattern for 10 inches, ending on a wrong side row. Fasten off.
Shape armholes:
Row 1: (RS). Skip first 6 (8–10) sts (sc and ch-1). Join yarn with sl st to next sc. Ch 1. Sc2tog. Pat to last 6 (10–12) sts. Sc2tog. Turn. Leave remaining sts unworked. 67 (73–77) sts rem.
Row 2: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Pat to last 2 sts. Sc2tog. Turn.
Rep last row 3 (3–3) times more. 59 (65–69) sts remain.
Next row: (WS). Work even in pat.
Next row: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Pat to last 2 sts. Sc2tog. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows 2 (4–5) times more. 53 (55–57) sts.
Work even in pattern until armhole measures 3 1/2 (3 1/2-4) inches ending on a WS row.
Shape left neck and shoulder:
Row 1: (RS). Ch 1. Pattern across 17 (17–19) sts. Sc2tog. Turn. Leave remaining sts unworked. Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 4 rows, then on every RS row 5 times more. 9 (9–11) sts remain.
Work even in pattern until the armhole measures 7 (7-7 1/2), ending on a WS row. Fasten off.
Shape right neck and shoulder:
Row 1: (RS). Skip next 15 (17-15) sts. Join yarn with sl st to next sc. Ch 1. Sc2tog. Pattern to the end of row. Turn.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 4 rows, then on every RS row 5 times more. 9 (9-11) sts remain.
Work even in pattern until the armhole measures 7 (7-7 1/2) ending on a WS row. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder and side seams.
Neck edging:
(RS). Join yarn with slip stitch at left shoulder seam.
Round 1: Ch 1. Work in sc evenly around. Join with slip stitch to the first sc.
Fasten off.
Armhole edging:
(RS). Join yarn with slip stitch at the side seam.
Round 1: Ch 1. Work in sc evenly around. Join with slip stitch to the first sc.
Fasten off.
