Yarn: Lion Brand Hometown in Oklahoma City Green
Crochet Hook: US size L
Gauge: 8 sc and 9 rows = 4 inches
Size: ages 4-6 years old
Pattern Instructions:
(hat is worked side to side)
Ch 28 leaving a long tail for seaming when you are finished.
Row 1: (RS). 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. 1 hdc in each of next 19 ch. 1 sc in each of last 6 ch. Turn. (26 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1. Working in front loops only, 1 sc in each of first 6 sc. *Work 1 hdc into horizontal bar created below st in previous row (bar is below loops normally worked). Repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 2. *Work 1 hdc into horizontal bar created below st in previous row (bar is below loops normally worked). Rep from * 19 times more. Working in front loops only, 1 sc in each of last 6 sc. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows until Hat (at widest point) measures approximately 18 inches ending on a 2nd row. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Fold the hat over and sew the side seam. Run a stitch around the top of the hat and pull to gather. Secure and weave in ends. Make and attach pom pom.
