Easy Hooded Pocket Scarf Knitting Pattern

This is the perfect scarf for anyone who is always cold (like me!). It’s knit using chunky yarn and it has both a hood and pockets. This scarf is knit using basic knit and purl stitches, so it’s ideal for beginners. The scarf is knit first, then stitches are picked up and the hood is made.

Needles: Size US 13 single point knitting needles

Cast on 18 sts.

Work in Garter Stitch for 6 inches. End on a wrong side row.

Work in Stockinette Stitch until the piece measures 50 inches from the cast on edge. End on a wrong side row. Knit 6 more inches in Garter Stitch and bind off.

Row 1: (right side) Knit 3 stitches at both sides for border. Work in K1, P1 ribbing (keeping 3 stitches at the sides for border)

Work until hood measures 12 inches. Bind off and sew seam.

For the pockets: Fold the Garter Stitch ends over and sew them at the sides to create pockets. Weave in ends.
