Sunset Beanie [knitting pattern]

I came across this beautiful yarn at Michaels recently and I knew it would perfect for a hat. I kept the design simple to show off the pretty, self striping colors and I topped it off with a big, fluffy pom pom.
Pattern-
Yarn: Isaac Mizrahi Yarn in Sutton in fashion (2 skeins)
Needles 10 1/2 US

Cast on 52 stitches

Work in K2, P2 ribbing

until piece measures 10 inches from beginning, ending with a wrong side row
To shape the crown 
Row 1 (Right Side):
*Knit 2, purl 2 together across row
Row 2 (Wrong Side)
*Purl 2, knit 1; across row
Row 3: *Knit 2, purl 1; across row
Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
Next Row: *Knit 2 together, purl 1; across row
Next Row: Knit 1, purl 1 across row
Next Row:*Knit 2 together; across row.
Next Row: Purl across row
Last Row: *Knit 2 together; across row. Cut yarn leaving a long end for seaming.
