Fog Chaser Cape Knitting Pattern

Fog Chaser Cape Free Knitting Pattern
I picked up this pretty yarn recently and I knew it would be perfect for a cape! Once it’s knitted, the colors in this yarn look almost like tweed. This cape is knit in the round, from the bottom up. Thanks to the super bulky yarn and big needles, this only takes a few evenings to make.

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Hudson Bay (2 skeins)
Knitting needles size 13 circular, 29 inch
Finished cape is measures 45 inches across the bottom and 22 inches around the neck
Free Knitting Pattern:
Cast on 90 sts. Place marker and join work in the round. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 3 rows. Continue knitting in the round until the piece measures 9 inches from the beginning.
Dec round: Knit 8, K2 together across round (81 sts)
Knit in the round for 2 rows
Dec round: Knit 7, K2 together across round (72 sts)
Knit in the round for 2 rows
Dec round: Knit 6, K2 together across round (63 sts)
Knit in the round for 2 rows
*Switch to shorter circular needles or double point needles when needed*
Dec round: Knit 5, K2 together across round (54 sts)
Knit in the round for 2 rows
Dec round: Knit 4, K2 together across round (45 sts)
Knit in the round for 5 more inches
Dec round: Knit 2 together, knit across round (44 sts)
Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 5 rows. Bind off loosely. Weave in ends.
