Needles: size 11 straight knitting needles
Gauge: 12–14 stitches = 4 inches
Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large

For the front square:
Cast on 54 (58, 62, 66) sts.
Work in Garter Stitch until the piece measures 18 (19, 20, 21) inches. Bind off.
For the back square:
Cast on 54 (58, 62, 66) sts.
Work in Garter Stitch until the piece measures 23 (24, 25, 26) inches.
For the turtleneck:
Cast on 54 (58, 62, 66) sts.
Work in Garter Stitch until the piece measures 10 inches. Bind off.
Finishing:
1) Sew the pieces together at the top (to make the shoulders) – 4 1/2 inches on each side. Fold over and sew the side seams together, leaving a 12 inch opening for arm holes.
2) Fold the remaining piece in half lengthwise to create the turtleneck. Sew the side seam. Sew the turtleneck onto the sweater.
