    Yarn: Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cakes Yarn in Maitai (#4 worsted weight)
    Needles: Size US 5 straight knitting needles
    Gauge: 22–24 stitches = 4 inches
    Size: 3-6 months old

    Abbreviations:
    M1 = Make 1 stitch by picking up the horizontal loop lying before the next stitch and knitting into the back of the loop.
    Sl1P = Slip next stitch purlways

    Pattern instructions:
    (the socks are worked from the foot up)
    Make 2.
    Cast on 23 sts.
    Row 1: (WS). Knit.
    Row 2: K11. M1. K1. M1. K11. 25 sts.
    Row 3: K1. M1. Knit to last st. M1. K1. 27 sts.
    Row 4: Knit.
    Row 5: K12. M1. K3. M1. K12. 29 sts.

    Next row: (RS). Sl1P. Knit to the end of row.
    Next row: Knit across all sts. 23 sts. Place a marker at the end of the last row.
    Next row: (K3. M1) twice. K11. (M1. K3) twice. 27 sts.
    Knit even in rows (garter st) until the work from the marked row measures
    2 1/4 inches, ending on a right side row.
    Next row: (WS). (K7. M1) 3 times. K6. 30 sts.
    Next row: *K2. P2. Repeat from * to the last 2 sts. K2.
