Easy Plush Halloween Cat Crochet Pattern

Easy Plush Halloween Cat Crochet Pattern

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver in Cafe Latte, Red Heart Super Saver in Carrot, #4 weight black yarn for the Jack-O-Lantern face,
Hook: Size US H
Also needed: fiber fill, safety eyes, small amount of tan yarn for nose, yarn needle
Size: approximately 11 1/2 tall from the bottom of feet to the top of head (not including ears) 

Pattern instructions:
For the Body:
(Make 2)
With the orange yarn, ch 23.
Row 1: 1 single crochet in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 22 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures approximately 4 1/2 inches, ending on a WS row.

Next Row: Ch 2 (counts as hdc). *Dcfp around next sc. Dcbp around next sc. Rep from * to the last sc. 1 hdc in last sc. Turn.
Next Row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Cut orange yarn.

For the Head: 
Row 1: With the brown yarn, ch 1. 1 sc in each st to end of row. Turn. 
Rows 2-4: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Next row: Ch 1. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc. Sc2tog. Turn. 20 sts.
Repeat the last row, dec 2 sts every row to 10 sts. Fasten off.

For the Arms:
(Make 2)
With the brown yarn, ch 2.
Round 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
Round 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. (16 sc)
Rounds 3-5: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Round 6: Ch 1. *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Break the brown yarn, join the orange yarn with sl st to first st. 12 sts.
Round 7: With the orange yarn, ch 1. 1 sc in each st around. Join with sl st to first sc. 
Round 8: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. Rep last rnd 5 times more. Fasten off at end of last rnd.

For the Legs:
(Make 2) 
With the brown yarn, chain 2. 
Round 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
Round 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. (16 sc)
Rounds 3-5: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Rounds 6-13: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off at end of last rnd.

For the Ears:
(Make 4)
With the brown yarn, chain 6 sts. 
Row 1: 1 single crochet in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. (5 sc)
Rows 2-3: Single crochet across row. 
Row 4: Decrease 1 stitch at both ends (3 sc)
Row 5: Decrease 1 stitch, sc (2 sc)
Row 6: Sc 2 sts together. Fasten off.

For the tail:
With the brown yarn, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
Sc each round until the tail measures 4 1/2 inches. Fasten off.

With the wrong sides of the Front and Back facing each other sew edges together, leaving opening at the top for stuffing. Sew the Jack-O-Lantern face onto the front of the sweater. Stuff the body and add the safety eyes. Sew the edge closed. Stuff the arms and legs and sew onto the body. Sew the 2 sides of the Ears together and stuff. Repeat to make the other ear. Sew the ears to the top of the Head. Make and attach tail.
