Cat Ornament Crochet Patter

Yarn: #4 worsted weight yarn (I used Loops & Threads Soft Classics)
Hook: 4.5mm crochet hook
Also needed: safety eyes, fiber fill, yarn needle
Gauge: 15 sc and 16 rows = 4 inches
Finished size: approximately 5 inches tall

Note: Do not join at end of rounds. Work in spiral in continuousrnds. Move marker onto first st at beg of each round.

Pattern instructions:

For the Head:
With the white yarn, chain 2.
Round 1: 6 sc in second chain from hook. PM on first sc.
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around. 12 sc.
Round 3: *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. 18 sc.
Round 4: *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. 24 sc.
Rounds 5 to 8: 1 sc in each sc around.
Round 9: *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * to end of rnd. 18 sts.
Before beginning the next round, attach safety eyes, placing them at top of 6th rnd, with 3 sc between them.
Insert Safety Nose on same row, between eyes.
Round 10: *Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. 12 sts. 11th rnd: (Sc2tog) 6 times. 6 sts.
Fasten off, leaving a tail approx 8 inches long. Thread tail through remaining sts and pull tightly to draw opening closed.

For the Ears:
With the white yarn, ch 3.
Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. 1 dc in last ch. Fasten off, leaving a tail for attaching to Head.

For the Legs:
**With the white yarn, chain 2.
Round 1: 8 sc in second chain from hook. PM on first sc.
Round 2: 1 sc in each sc around.
Rounds 3 to 5: 1 sc in each sc around.**
Fasten off, leaving a tail approx 5 inches long.

For the Second Leg:
Work from ** to ** as given for First Leg. Do not fasten off at end of 5th rnd.

For the Body:
Join Legs:
Round 1: 2 sc in first sc of Second Leg (PM on first sc). 2sc in first sc of First Leg to join. 1sc in each of the next 6sc of the FirstLeg. 2sc in last sc. 2sc in next sc of the Second Leg. 1sc in each of next 6 sc of Second Leg. 20 sc.
Rounds 2 to 5: 1 sc in each sc around.
Round 6: *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * around. 16 sts.
Round 7: 1 sc in each st around.
Round 8: *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. 12 sts.
Stuff Body with stuffing.
Fasten off.

For the Arms:
With the white yarn, chain 2.
Round 1: 6 sc in second chain from hook. PM on first sc.  
Round 2: 1 sc in each sc around.
Round 3: 1 sc in each sc around.
Join with slip stitch in next sc at end of 7th rnd.
Fasten off leaving a tail to attach to Body. 

Lightly stuff arms. Sew Arms to each side of Body, making sure they are centered evenly.

For the Tail:
With the white yarn, chain 2.
Round 1: 4 sc in second chain from hook. PM on first sc. 
Rounds 2 to 5: 1 sc in each sc around.
Join with slip stitch in next sc at end of 5th rnd.
Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Finishing:
Sew head to body. Embroider the cat nose and whiskers.

For the scarf:
With the contrasting yarn, ch 33.
Row 1: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of chain.
Fasten off.

Wrap Scarf around neck and secure at side.
