Yarn: Loops & Threads Soft Classics in Grey (#4 worsted weight yarn, 1 skein)
Needles: Size US 7 straight knitting needles, Size US 7 double point knitting needles, Size US 7 16 inch circular knitting needles
Also needed: poly fill, yarn needle, plastic eyes
Gauge: 19 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches
Size: approximately 11 inches tall, not including the ears

Pattern instructions:
For the Body (Make 3)
Cast on 34 sts.
Work in stockinette stitch until 36 rows are completed.
Dec 1 st each end of next and every following 4th row to 26 sts, then every following alternate row to 14 sts, then every row to 4 sts.
Break yarn, leaving a long end. Thread end through rem sts.
Draw up and fasten securely.

For the Ears (make 4)
Cast on 8 sts.
Work 8 rows in stocking st.
Dec 1 st each end of next and every following alt row to 2 sts.
Next row: P2tog. Fasten off.
With WS facing each other, sew 2 ties of the ear together.

For the Tail:
Cast on 24 sts.
Work 16 rows in stockinette stitch. Decrease 1 st at each end of 3rd and every following 8th row to 10 sts.
Work 5 rows even.
Break yarn, leaving a long end. Thread end through rem sts. Draw up and fasten securely. Sew Tail seam.

For the Base:
With pair of double-pointed needles, cast on 4 sts.
Round 1: Inc 1 st in each st to end of row. Divide these 8 sts onto 3 needles. Join in rnd, placing marker on first st.
Round 2 and alternate rounds: Knit.
Round 3: *Inc 1 st in next st. Rep from * around. 16 sts.
Round 5: *Inc 1 st in next st. K1. Rep from * around. 24 sts.
Round 7: *Inc 1 st in next st. K2.
Rep from * around. 32 sts.
Round 9: *Inc 1 st in next st. K3. Rep from * around. 40 sts. Continue in this manner to 104 sts, transferring sts onto circular needle when necessary. Cast off.

Cat Plushie Knitting Pattern

Finishing:

With the right sides facing, sew sides of Body together. Sew the Base to the Body,
leaving opening for stuffing. Add the eyes and nose. Stuff the Body firmly and sew opening closed. Stuff Tail and attach to Body.
