Easy Mens Beanie Knitting Pattern- this basic beanie makes a great gift for the man in your life!
This beanie features a wide ribbed brim and a shaped crown. The ribbing is created by using knit and purl stitches to make a ribbed stitch pattern. This hat is knit on circular knitting needles and it’s suited for beginners. This is a simple knit and one of my many easy knit hat patterns.

Easy Mens Beanie Knitting Pattern
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Green Forest Heather (#4 worsted weight yarn, 1 skein of yarn)
Needles: Size US 6 circular, 16-inch knitting needles, Size US 7 circular, 16-inch knitting needles , Size US 7 Double point knitting needles
Gauge: 2 inches= 8 sts
Size: Mens one size fits most
Pattern Instructions:
With the smaller needles, cast on 106 sts.
Row 1: (RS). K1. *K2. P2. Rep from * to last st. K1.
Row 2: P1. *K2. P2. Rep from * to last st. P1.
Rep last 2 rows (K2. P2) ribbing until the work from the beginning measures 6 inches.
Change to larger knitting needles and knit every row until the piece measures 9 inches from the cast-on edge.
Shape crown:
(Switch to Double point needles when necessary)
Row 1: (RS). K1. *K2tog. K22. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (98 sts.)
2nd and alt rows: Knit across.
Row 3: K1. *K2tog. K20. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (90 sts.)
Row 5: K1. *K2tog. K18. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (82 sts)
Row 7: K1. *K2tog. K16. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (74 sts.)
Row 9: K1. *K2tog. K14. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (66 sts.)
Row 11: K1. *K2tog. K12. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (58 sts.)
Row 13: K1. *K2tog. K10. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (50 sts.)
Row 15: K1. *K2tog. K8. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (42 sts.)
Row 17: K1. *K2tog. K6. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (34 sts.)
Row 19: K1. *K2tog. K4. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (26 sts.)
Row 21: K1. *K2tog. K2. ssk. Rep from * to last st. K1. (18 sts.)
Break yarn, leaving a long end. Using a tapestry needle, thread the end through the remaining 18 sts. Pull to tighten and weave in ends.
