Easy Spiral Hat Knitting Pattern

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Kale (1 skein)

Needles: Size US 13 circular, 16 inch, Size US 13 double point knitting needles

Optional: Faux fur pom pom

Guage: 2 inches = 5 sts. 

Cast on 48 sts. 

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 6 rows. 

Row 7: *Knit 3, p1* *Repeat until the end of the round

Row 8: *Knit 3, p1* Repeat until the end of the round

Row 9: P1, *K3, P1*, K3 *Repeat around until the last three stitches.

Row 10: P1, *K3, P1*, K3 *Repeat around until the last three stitches.

Row 11: K1, P1, *K3, P1*, K2 * Repeat around until the last two stitches.

Row 12: K1, P1, *K3, P1*, K2 * Repeat around until the last two stitches.

Row 13: K2, P1 *K3, P1*, K1 * Repeat around until the last stitch.

Row 14: K2, P1 *K3, P1*, K1 * Repeat around until the last stitch.

Row 15-22: Repeat rows 7-14

Row 23-27: Repeat rows 7-10

Shape crown:

(switch to double point needles when necessary)

Row 28: *K3, K2tog*, K3

Row 29: Knit across round.

Row 30: *k2, k2tog*, K3

Row 31: Knit across round.

Row 32: *k1, k3tog*

Row 33: Knit across round.

Row 34: k2tog across round.

Finishing: Break yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread through remaining stitches and pull to tighten. Weave in ends and attach pom pom.
