Yarn: Lion Brand Jeans in Capri (yarn weight #4, worsted weight yarn)
Needles: Size US 4 single point, Size US 5 straight needles
Gauge: 21 sts + 48 rows = 4 in. in Garter Stitch
Also needed: tapestry needle
Size: 6-9 months
Note: (a note about this pattern- M1 means make 1 stitch. This increase is made by lifting the horizontal thread lying between
the needles and placing it onto the left needle. Knit through the back of the loop)
Pattern instructions:
(make 2)
With the larger needles cast on 27 sts.
Row 1: Knit 13, place marker, knit 1, place marker, knit to end.
Row 2: Knit 1, M1, knit to marker, M1, slip marker, k 1, slip marker, M1, knit to
last st, M1, knit 1 (31 sts)
Repeat the last row 2 more times (39 sts)
Work 11 rows in Garter stitch- remove markers on the first row.
Decrease:
Next Row: Knit 16, k2tog, place marker, k 3, place marker, k2tog, knit 16 (37 sts)
Next Row: Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker, knit 3, slip marker, k2tog, knit to end (35 sts)
Repeat the last row 4 more times (27 sts)
Knit 2 rows.
Change to size 4 needles and work in K1, P1 Rib for 3 in. Bind off loosely in Rib stitch.
