My natural hair texture is really unruly. It’s poufy, frizzy and it has a tight wave pattern near the scalp. I grew up hating my hair…it didn’t help that the other kids nicknamed it “tumbleweed”.  Years ago I started my straightened hair journey by getting Japanese Straightening. It took 6 hours to get done, left my hair damaged and seriously prone to knotting, but it was finally straight and I was happy!

When smoothing treatments like Brazilian Blowouts and Keratin treatments popped up at every salon, I was happy to find an alternative that didn’t use .. The keratin treatments weren’t a great fit for my hair. They reduced my frizz, but the stubborn, tight wave pattern near my scalp stayed (pretty much) the same. I had the best results with Brazilian Blowouts, but I had safety concerns. Brazilian Blowout (as well as many other Keratin treatments) contain liquid formaldehyde that can turn into formaldehyde gas when heated during a treatment.

I recently got the Cezanne Perfect Finish Keratin Hair Treatment done and I’m so happy with it! The effect is similar to the Brazilian Blowout, but it’s doesn’t have harsh chemicals. (It’s formaldehyde free). My stylist told me that the results wouldn’t be as dramatic as the Brazilian Blowout, but honestly, I can’t tell the difference. Not only is my frizz and pouf gone, my wave pattern was drastically reduced.

 The Cezanne Perfect Finish Keratin Hair Treatment uses a different active ingredient than the other straightening treatments on the market- Sericin. It’s produced by a silkworm and wraps around each hair strand to smooth it. It penetrates into the hair, as opposed to other treatments, which just lay flat on the strand. The component of silk seals the hair follicle making for smoother hair. The end result is healthy, manageable hair.

With the Cezanne Perfect Finish Keratin Hair Treatment my hair is so much easier to style. Blow-dry time has been cut in half. I can still style my hair with a curling iron. Best of all? The Cezanne treatment leaves my hair is so soft and tangle-free! I wash my hair every few days with paraben-free shampoo and paraben-free conditioner.  I use a dry shampoo (if needed) on the days I don’t wash my hair.
