Square Bear Knitting Pattern
There are a lot of cute plush animal patterns out there, but most of them are crochet. The knitting ones I could find were pretty complicated. I created this This Square Bear Knitting Pattern with beginners in mind. The entire bear is knit flat, in pieces and then sewn together. It’s knit in Garter Stitch and there’s no increasing/decreasing. If you can knit a square, you can make this bear!

How to assemble the bear:
Fold body piece over and stitch the sides and bottom closed, leaving a hole to insert the fiber fill. Stuff and sew seam closed.
For the legs: Roll the piece up and stitch the long seam closed. Stuff lightly with fiber fill and sew on end closed. Repeat with the other leg.
Sew the legs on.
For the arms: Roll the piece up and stitch the long seam closed. Stuff lightly with fiber fill and sew on end closed. Repeat with the other arm.
Sew the arms on.
To make the ears: Fold the square over to form a triangle. Stitch the sides closed.
Run the yarn through the bottom stitches to gather. Pull tightly and knot to hold in place.
Sew the ears on.
For the muzzle: Repeat the same steps used to make the ears. Stitch the muzzle to the body. Cut out a felt nose and sew it on. Cut out circles from the white felt and sew the buttons on to make eyes.
The bear looks like a cute easy pattern, but I’m not sure about the needle size. Is that 8 US or 8mm?
Thank you.
Hi! It’s US =)
