Flat Knit Christmas Stocking Knitting Pattern

Flat Knit Christmas Stocking Knitting Pattern- this beginner-friendly stocking is knit on straight needles using simple increases and decreases.

Flat Knit Christmas Stocking Knitting Pattern

Christmas wouldn’t be complete without holiday stockings! I found a bunch of Christmas Stocking knitting patterns online that used double-pointed or circular needles, but very few using straight…so I decided to make one!

This knitting pattern is relatively simple. If you can cast on extra stitches and decrease this will be a breeze! There is minimal toe and heel shaping. I decided to go with the classic red and white, but these could be great in other colors too. You can even embroider a simple design of the front using a duplicate stitch.

Scroll down for the pattern or click below to buy the ad-free, printable version for a small fee. The printable version is an instant download that conveniently prints on 2 pages.

  1. Hi,
I’d just like to say I’m impressed with your knitting items:) Also, I prefer knitting with a pair of two straight needles rather than the circular or double pointed. I can just knit much more quickly on the straight needles. So, if you have any more patterns for xmas stockings knitted on the straight needles I’d really love to be notified.
Thanks from a hooked-on knitting lady:)
