I’m throwing a casual, backyard party this weekend and I wanted some fun decorations. I didn’t want to go the traditional route with balloons and streamers so I decided to make these tissue paper flowers. They’re inexpensive and easy to create and they make my party space look so cheerful!
Supplies: Tissue paper
Pipe cleaners
Scissors
[Take 10 sheets of tissue paper and place them on top of each other. With the shorter side of the rectangle facing you, fold them accordion (aka “fan”) style. Make the folds about 1 inch wide. Fold the entire length of tissue]
[Cinch in the middle with the pipe cleaner and twist to close]
[Cut the ends of the paper off on both sides in a wave shape]
[Pull the first layer of tissue up and towards the center. Do this carefully so you don’t rip the paper]
[Repeat with the other side. Work until all the layers have been fluffed up]
