DIY Macrame Pendant Necklace
A while ago I posted a DIY for a macrame plant hanger. I really liked the way it turned out and I’ve made several more since! I decided to take the same technique and try it out on a smaller scale with this necklace.
Supplies:
Nylon cord
Jasper nugget beads
[Cut 8 strands that each measure 30 inches long] |
[Take the ends of the 8 strands and tie in a knot. Leave about 1 1/2 inches at the end for fringe] |
[Separate the strings into 4 groups of 2] |
[Tie a double knot about a 1/4 inch down from the main knot] |
[Tie a double knot with the rest of the sections] |
[Take strands #1 and #8 and double knot together] |
[Continue to knot the strands on the left with the ones directly to the right, forming a square] |
[Repeat the knotting again, making the square 1 size larger] |
[Place the stone inside the mesh] |
[Make a knot at the top] |
[Divide the strands into 2 groups of 4. Make a knot on each side 1 1/2 inches up from the stone. Knot in the back to wear] |
Love this 🙂 What a fab way to include macrame in your design!
