I wanted some window box to dress up the front of the house but I surprised to find out how expensive they are! Also, my windows aren’t standard sizes, so none of the boxes I saw online would even fit so I got to work and made my own. They were surprisingly easy to make and I think they’re going to look great when all my flowers grow and fill out!
Supplies-
Cedar lumber (1 inch wide, 7 inch high)
Screws
Brackets
Plastic planters (to use as liners)
[First I cut the lumber for the front, back and bottom. Then I joined them together at the bottom using 2 screws for each side. Finally, I screwed the sides in using another screws per side]
[Use 1 bracket at each side of the window box to attach]
[I used plastic liners inside the boxes to protect the cedar. I also drilled a few holes in the bottom of the cedar boxes for drainage]
Very nice! This would be really pretty with a bunch of ivy geraniums cascading over the sides…and bugs don't like them..
