Christmas Tree Ornament Knitting Pattern

Yarn: #4 worsted weight yarn in green, small amount of worsted weight yarn in brown for the trunk
Needles: Size 6 single point knitting needles
Also needed: 9mm gold bells, fiber fill, yarn needle
Size: Approximately 5 1/2 inches tall

Pattern instructions:
(Make 2)
With the green yarn, cast on 3 sts.
Row 1: Knit across.
Row 2: K1, M1, Knit to the last st, M1, K1 (5 sts)
Row 3: Knit across.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 three more times (11 sts)
Cast off 3 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows (5 sts)

Next row: K1, M1, K to the last st, M1, K1 (7 sts)
Next row: Knit across.
Repeat the last 2 rows four more times (15 sts)

Cast off 4 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows (7 sts)
Next row: K1, M1, K to the last st, M1, K1 (9 sts)
Next row: Knit across.
Repeat the last 2 rows five more times (19 sts)

Bind off all stitches.

For the trunk:
With the brown yarn, cast on 8 sts and work 2 1/2 inches in stockinette stitch, ending on a Purl row. Bind off.
