Yarn: Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cakes in Heatwave (1 skein)
Needles: Size US 7 and US 8 16-inch circular knitting needles
Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches in stocking stitch
Size: Women’s one size

Abbreviations:
M1 = Make 1 stitch by picking up horizontal loop lying before next stitch and knitting into back of the loop
Ssk = Slip next 2 stitches knitwise one at a time. Pass them back onto left-hand needle, then knit through back loops together.

Pattern instructions:

With set of smaller needles, cast on 88 sts. Join in rnd, placing marker at first st.
Round 1: *K2. P2. Rep from * around.
Rep last rnd 8 times more.
Next rnd: *K4. M1. Rep from * around. 110 sts.

Change to set of larger needles and proceed in pat as follows:
Round 1: *K2tog. K3. (K1. yo. K1) all in next st. K3. ssk. Rep from *around.
Round 2: Knit.
Rep last 2 rnds until work from beg measures approximately 7 1/2 inches ending on a 2nd rnd.

Shape the Crown:
Round 1: *K2tog. K7. ssk. Rep from * around. 90 sts.
Round 2 and Alternate Rounds: Knit.
Round 3: *K2tog. K2. (K1. yo. K1) all in next st. K2. ssk. Rep from * around.

Round 5: *K2tog. K5. ssk. Rep from * around. 70 sts.
Round 7: *K2tog. K1. (K1. yo. K1) all in next st. K1. ssk. Rep from * around.

Round 9: *K2tog. K3. ssk. Rep from * around. 50 sts.
Round 11: *K2tog. (K1. yo. K1) all in next st. ssk. Rep from * around.

Round 13: *K2tog. K1. ssk. Rep from * around. 30 sts.
Round 14: *K2tog. Rep from * around. 15 sts.

Break yarn leaving a long end. Draw end through remaining sts and fasten securely.
