Crochet hook size: US size 8/H
Gauge: 13 sc and 14 rows = 4 inches

Round 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc. (6 sc)
Round 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. (12 sc)
Round 3: Ch 1. *1 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (18 sc)
Round 4: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (24 sc)
Sizes Newborn and 6/12 only:
Round 5: Ch 1. *2 twisted sc in next sc. 1 twisted sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * around. Join with slip st to first sc. (30 sc)
Round 6: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (36 sc)
Sizes 6/12 only:
Round 7: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 5 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (42 sc)
Round 8: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (48 sc)
Sizes Preemie only:
Next round: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 7 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (27 sc)
All sizes:
Next round: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. PM on last round.
Rep last round until the work from the marked round measures 3 1/4 (3 3/4, 4 1/4) inches. Fasten off and weave in ends.
