Yarn: Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Rose
Needles: Size US 7 single point knitting needles
Also needed: yarn needle, fiber fill
Gauge: not necessary for this project
Size: Bunny measures approximately 19 1/2 inches tall
Pattern instructions:
(Make 2)
Cast on 20 sts.
Row 1: Purl across
Row 2: K1, Kf&B, knit to the last 2 sts, Kf&b, K1. (22 sts)
Repeat these 2 rows until there are 38 sts. End on a Purl side row.
Work in Stockinette stitch for 20 rows, ending with a Purl row.
Next row: K1, k2tog, knit to the last 3 sts, k2tog, K1. (36 sts)
Next row: Purl.
Repeat these 2 rows until there are 24 sts left. End on a Purl row.
Increase:
Row 1: K1, Kfb, knit to the last 2 sts, Kfb, K1. (26 sts)
Row 2: Purl.
Repeat these 2 rows until you have 32 sts, ending on a Purl row.
Work in Stockinette stitch for 14 rows, ending with a Purl row.
Decrease:
Next row: K1, k2tog, knit to the last 3 sts, k2tog, K1. (30 sts)
Next row: Purl.
Repeat these 2 rows until there are 24 sts left. End on a Purl row.
For the Ears:
Row 1: K10, bind off the next 4 sts., knit 10.
Row 2: Purl 10.
Continue working on these 10 sts only.
Row 3: K1, Kfb, knit to the last 2 sts, Kfb, K1. (12 sts)
Row 4: Purl.
Repeat rows 3 and 4 until there are 14 sts.
Work in Stockinette Stitch for 12 rows, ending on a Purl row.
Next row: K1, k2tog, knit to the last 3 sts, K2tog, K1. (12 sts)
Next row: Purl.
Repeat these 2 rows until you have 6 sts, ending with a Purl row.
Next row: K1, k2tog, knit to the last 3 sts, k2tog, K1. (4 sts)
Bind off Purlwise.
Finishing:
Place the front and back sides of the bunny on top of each other. Sew around, leaving a small opening to stuff the bunny. Stuff with polyfill and sew then opening closed. Stitch on the the eyes and nose. Weave in ends.
