Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease Recycled in Charcoal (1 skein)
Needles: Size US 8 straight knitting needles
Gauge: 16 sts = 4 inches in K2, P2 ribbing, slightly stretched
Men’s One size
Pattern instructions:
Cast on 90 sts.
Work in K2, P2 ribbing for inches. Work until the piece measures 10 inches from the beginning, ending on a wrong side row.
Shape the Top of the Hat:
Row 1: (RS). K2. *Purl 2 stitches together (P2tog). K2. Rep from * to end of row. (68 sts)
Row 2: P2. *K1. P2. Rep from * to end of row.
Row 3: K2. *P1. K2. Rep from * to end of row.
Row 4: P2. *K1. P2. Rep from * to end of row.
Row 5: *Knit 2 stitches together (K2tog). P1. Rep from * to end of row. (45 sts)
Row 6: *K1. P1. Rep from * to end of row.
Row 7: *K2tog. Rep from * to last stitch, K1 (23 sts)
Row 8: Purl.
Break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave the end of the yarn through the 23 sts on the knitting needle. Pull to tighten and sew the back seam.
