Easy Crochet Christmas Stocking Pattern

Yarn : Loops & Threads Soft Classics in Off White and Bright Red
Crochet hook: size US H/8
Gauge: 13 sc and 14 rows = 4 inches

Pattern Instructions:
For the Cuff: With the white yarn, ch 20.
Row 1: 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. 1 hdc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. (18 hdc)
Row 2: Ch 2. 1 hdc in horizontal bar created below st in previous row (bar is below loops normally worked on WS) in each st to end of row. Turn.
Rep Row 2 row until Cuff measures 14 inches when slightly stretched.
With Wrong Sides facing, working through both thicknesses of foundation ch and last row of Cuff, work 1 sc in each st to end of row. Break the white yarn. Join the red yarn.
Note: Rounds are worked in a spiral. Do not join at end of rounds. Place marker on first st of each round and move marker up each following round.
For the leg:
Round 1: Ch 1. Turn Cuff sideways and work 46 sc evenly around long edge of Ribbing. Do not join.
Round 2: 1 sc in each st around. Rep last round until Stocking from base of Cuff measures 9 inches. Join last round to first st of round with slip st. Break red yarn.
Heel Flap
Row 1: With the white yarn, ch1. 1 sc in same space as last sl st. 1 sc in each of next 22 sc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. (23 sc)
Row 2: (WS). Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Working back and forth in rows across 23 sc, rep last row for 2 inches, ending on a WS row.
Shape Heel:
Row 1: (RS). Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 15 sc. Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. (17 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 9 sts. Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc. Turn. (11 sts)
Row 3: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 10 sts. Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc. Turn. (12 sts)
Row 4: Ch1. 1 sc in each of first 11 sts. Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc. Turn. (13 sts)
Row 5:Ch1. 1 sc in each of first 12 sts. Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc. Turn. (14 sts)
Row 6: Ch1.1 sc in each of first 13 sts. Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc. Turn. (15 sts)
Rows 7 & 8: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 14 sts. Sc2tog. Turn. (15 sts) Fasten off.
Foot
Joining round: (RS). Join white yarn with sl st at left side of Heel Base. Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 23 sc of instep. Place marker. Work 7 sc up right side of Heel. Work 1 sc in each of next 15 sc across end of Heel and work 7 sc down left side of Heel. (52 sts)
Round 2: 1 sc in each sc to marker. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc. Sc2tog. (50 sts)
Rounds 3 to 5: As 2nd round. (44 sts)
Round 6: 1 sc in each st around. Rep round 6 until work from join measures 5 inches. Break Red. Join white yarn.
Shape toe:
Round 1: (1 sc in each of next 9 sc. Sc2tog) 4 times. Join. (40 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 8 sts. Sc2tog) 4 times. Join. (36 sts)
Rounds 3 to 8: Continue in same manner, decreasing 4 sts on every round until 12 sts rem.
Break yarn, leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through remaining sts and fasten securely.
