Mens Basic Hat Crochet Pattern

Yarn: Patons Canadiana in Cherished Green (1 skein)
Hook: size I
Gauge: 14 sts = 4 inches
Size: Mens one size
Pattern instructions:
Ch 41 loosely.
Row 1: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 40 sc.
**Row 2: Ch 1. Sl st in back loop of first sc. 1 scbl in each sc to the end of row. Turn.
Row 3: Ch1. 1 scbl in each sc to last sc. Turn. Leave remaining sts unworked (sc and sl st).
Rep the last 2 rows 5 times more, then 2nd row once more.
Next row: Ch 1. 1 scbl in each sc to last sc. Work across the ends of the unworked sts from previous 13 rows: (1 scbl in next sc. 1 sc in next sl st) 6 times. Turn. 40 sc.**
Rep from ** to ** 5 times more. Fasten off.
Sew back seam and weave in ends.
