Pattern instructions:
(Make 2)
**For the Cuff: Ch 10.
Row 1: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
1 sc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. (9 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1. Working in back loops only, 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Rep 2nd row until the work from the beginning measures 4 1/2 inches, ending on a wrong side row. Do not fasten off.
To join to seam, slip stitch in the back loops. Do not fasten off. Turn work and proceed as follows:**
(Note: Ch 2 at beg of rnd does not count as hdc.)
***Start working in rounds:
Round 1: Ch 1. Work 18 sc evenly around. Join with slip stitch to first sc.
Round 2: Ch2. 1 hdc in each st around. Join with sl st to first hdc.
Rep 2nd rnd 1 time more, then proceed as follows:
Shape thumb gusset: 1st rnd:
Ch2. 1 hdc in each of the next 8 hdc. 2 hdc in each of next 2 hdc. 1 hdc in each hdc to end of the rnd. Join with sl st to first hdc. (20 hdc).
Round 2: Ch2. 1 hdc in each of the next (8 hdc). 2 hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each of the next 2hdc. 2hdc in next hdc. 1 hdc in each hdc to end of rnd. Join with sl st to first hdc. (22 hdc.)

Next round :Ch2. 1 hdc in each of the next 9 hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch. 1 hdc in each hdc to the end of the round. Join with sl st to first hdc. (20 hdc.)
Next round: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc around. Join with sl st to first hdc. Rep the last round until the work after the cuff measures 3 1/2 inches.
Shape top: Round 1: Ch 2. [1 hdc in each of next 3 (4–3) hdc. Hdc2tog] 4 times. Join with sl st to first hdc. (16 sts)
Round 2: Ch2. [1 hdc in each of next 2 hdc. Hdc2tog] 4 times. Join with sl st to first hdc. (12 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through the remaining sts and fasten securely.
For the Thumb:
Join yarn with sl st at marker. Ch 2. 1 hdc in each rem loop of ch-2 sp. 1 hdc in each of next 6 hdc. Join with sl st to first hdc. (8 hdc.)
Next round: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc around. Join with sl st to first hdc. Rep the last round until the thumb from marker measures 1 1/2 inches.
Next round: Ch 2. (Hdc2tog) 4 times. Join with sl st to first st. (4 sts.)
Fasten off, leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through rem sts and fasten securely. Weave in ends.
