Yarn Ideas for Your Knit Elephant

Choosing the right yarn can make your plush elephant knitting pattern even more special. While classic gray yarn creates a realistic elephant, there are many fun color possibilities.

Popular yarn choices include:

• gray yarn for a traditional elephant
• pastel yarn for baby gifts
• bright colors for playful toys
• soft cotton yarn for gentle baby toys

Soft yarns like cotton or merino wool are especially popular for stuffed animals because they create a cozy texture that feels nice to the touch.

Because this project uses relatively small amounts of yarn, it’s also perfect for using leftover yarn from other knitting projects.
