Easy Colorblock Hat Knitting Pattern- cute, comfortable and topped with a big pom pom!
I wanted some basic-with-a-twist fall hats for the boys so I created this Easy Colorblock Hat Knitting Pattern. These hats are lightweight but still warm enough for this transitional weather. The rich colors work well with the boy's fall clothes.
I used Lion Brand Jeans for this pattern. It's a great new yarn that mimics the look and colors of jeans. Each color has a tweeded effect which adds interest to anything you knit. The yarn is medium weight and very soft- perfect for accessories and clothing!
This hat features a ribbed design with a color change near the crown. It's knit on circular needles with double point needles for the crown shaping. It's a basic design that's beginner-friendly as long as you can use circular and double point needles. The sizes are 1-2 years and 3-4 years. The ribbing makes it very stretchy so this hat could work on other sizes as well.
The finishing touch is a big, fluffy pom pom. I always use a pom pom maker. I bought one years ago and I never made another pom pom without it! The maker is great because it gives you a full pom pom every time. If you want to see the pom maker in action check out my "How to Make Perfect Pom Poms Every Time" post.
