Baby Pumpkin Hat Knitting Pattern- Easy & Adorable!
Baby Pumpkin Hat Knitting Pattern- this cute little hat is perfect for autumn and a must-have for family photos at the pumpkin patch!
Happy first day of fall everyone! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. The weather has cooled off, the leaves are falling from the trees and all the local farms have turned into pumpkin patches and play areas for the kids. One of our favorite after-school destinations is Hank’s Pumpkintown in Water Mill, NY. In addition to having huge fields of pumpkins, Hank’s has a large playground area with wooden toys. It’s also the ideal (and judging by the number of people with cameras- the most popular!) spot in the Hamptons for taking family pics.
FYI- autumn pics aren’t complete without a pumpkin hat for the little one!
This Baby Pumpkin Hat Knitting Pattern is knit using a wide rib pattern which mimics the ridges on a pumpkin. The color is changed to green near the crown and the remaining few stitches are knit upwards to create a stem. This pattern is beginner-friendly as long as you’re comfortable working with circular and double point needles.
I knit this pattern using Lion Brand’s Feels Like Butta yarn. If you haven’t tried Feels Like Butta yarn yet, you definitely should! It feels like an expensive yarn, but it’s only around $5 per skein. Feels like Butta has the velvety touch of chenille except it really easy to work with. It’s polyester and it comes in a wide array of colors- everything from pastels to rich jewel tones. You’ll be seeing more Feels Like Butta yarn in my future knitting patterns!
