Anti Aging LED Light Therapy
LED Light Therapy has been popping up everywhere in the form of salon treatments and at-home devices. Red Light Therapy has gained a lot of attention in the beauty world for its ability to hydrate and heal the skin. It’s great for anti-aging because it protects existing collagen and elastin, while also stimulating new collagen production. Red light therapy uses red, low-level wavelengths of light that causes the body to produce a biochemical effect that boosts the amount of energy stored in cells. It’s effective at both boosting collagen production and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As someone who’s holding off on Botox/fillers, I was eager to give this a try!
There are tons of Red Light beauty devices on the market, from small handheld devices to freestanding lights to face masks. I decided to try Trophy Skin RejuvaliteMD Anti Aging Red LED Light Therapy Beauty Device because the reviews were great and I liked that you could treat your whole face in only 5 minutes a day.
Don’t let the similarity to a tanning bed fool you- unlike using salon tanning beds, Red Light Therapy does not utilize harmful ultraviolet (UV) light which can damage skin and cause cells to mutate. Red Light Therapy is completely non-invasive and it causes no damage to the skin.
The device has a simple push button on/off switch and an adjustable arm with a weighted base. You can adjust the light for a standing position or lying down.
To use, wash your face. Then, put on the protective eye goggles and position the light approximately 4 inches from your face. Turn the light on and after 5 minutes, when the session is complete, the light will automatically turn off.
The LED panel is split evenly between UV-free red (660nm), yellow (590nm), amber (630nm), and (invisible) infrared (880nm) bulbs which penetrate the skin at different levels. RejuvaliteMD is both FDA Cleared and Clinically Approved.
So, does it actually work?
The description recommends waiting 60 days to see results, but you can use RejuvaliteMD twice a day to see results faster.
I’ve only been doing the Red Light Therapy for 2 weeks (twice a day/7 days a week) and I’ve already noticed that my skin looks fuller and more even. Discoloration (in the form of red patches) is my biggest skin issue so I was so pleased to finally find a skincare treatment that actually worked.
I plan on doing a follow-up post at the 60-day mark so I share the full results. Be sure to check back!
Have any of you tried (or are interested in) Red Light Therapy? I’d love to hear!
