I've been styling my hair the same way for a few years now- big, voluminous curls. I consider this my go-to style and it always makes me feel more polished. This is an easy look to achieve with the right styling tools. I have quite a collection of curling irons but this Signature Series 1" curling iron from Hot Tools is the one I'm constantly reaching for in the morning.
Hot Tools is a brand that's widely used in professional salons. Their new Signature Series brings you professional quality styling tools at an affordable price.
The Hot Tools Signature Series Curling Iron features a 30 second heat up which is perfect for busy mornings! Pulse technology maintains a steady temperature which ensures that once the iron gets hot, it stays hot. It also has a 6 foot swivel cord that gives you plenty of room to work with.
Let me take you through my hairstyling routine:
I start by sectioning off my hair. Then I take 1- ½ inch wide sections and wrap them around the curling iron. I leave the ends out (approximately 2 inches) when I wrap my hair around the barrel to give my curls a less "done" look.
One of the features I love about the Hot Tools curling iron is the adjustable temperature settings (from 280-430 degrees). I set my iron to 380 degrees for my thick/wavy hair.
Once I've finished a small section of hair, I move on to another area. I don't clip or tie back the curls I've finished because I don't want any creases/dents.
After I'm finished curling all my hair, I run my fingers through it to break up the curls. I don't finish with any product because I've found that it weighs my hair down.
One of the things I love most about the Hot Tools Signature Series curling iron is that the curls are long-lasting. I've tried some curling irons only to have my curls fall out mid-day. With this iron, my curls last at least 2 days (until it's time to wash my hair).
