Flat Knit Newborn Hat- a fast & easy knit that will keep little heads toasty!

I’m so happy to share that my second little guy, River, was born last weekend!!!!!! It was love at first sight and this past week has been one of the best of my life! His big brother is obsessed and he’s so sweet and gentle with him. I’ll share some more pics soon- hopefully with his eyes open!

Obviously, I’ve been knitting up a storm for this little guy. This Flat Knit Newborn Hat is so warm and cozy- perfect for our NY winters! It’s knit on single point needles using a rib stitch. The pattern is beginner friendly and it knits up in approximately 30 minutes, which makes it a great last minute gift.

Flat Knit Newborn Hat

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Bonus Bundle in Dusk

Needles: Size US 13 Single Point

Gauge: 1 inch = 2 sts

Fits sizes 0-3 months

Cast on 32 sts.

Row 1-14: K2, P2, Repeat from * across.

Row 15: *K2Tog, P2, Repeat from * across.

Row 16:  *K1, P2 together, Repeat from * across.

Row 17: Knit 2 together across row.

Row 18: Knit 2 together across row.

Break yarn, pull through remaining stitches. Pull to tighten. Sew seam.
