A hood/cowl combo…could anything be cozier? This Hooded Cowl is guaranteed to keeps kids warm when the winter months hit. Best of all? It’s so easy to knit! The hood is knit flat and then seamed at the top. The cowl is created by picking up the stitches on the bottom of the hood and knitting them in the round.
The Thick & Quick yarn and large needles make this a fast knit that can easily be completed in an evening.

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Petrol Blue (1 skein)
Needles: Size US 13 single point knitting needles, Size US 13 circular needles, 16 inch
For the Hood:
(Note- hood is knit flat and then the seam is sewn closed at the top)
Cast on 32 sts.
Pattern:
Work in Stockinette stitch keeping 5 sts at the beginning and the end of every row in knit stitch.
Repeat rows 4 and 5 until piece measures 12 inches. Bind off.
To assemble the hood: Fold the piece in half longways with the knit stitch borders matching up. Sew the top seam closed.

To Add the Cowl:
With the circular needles, cast on 12 sts. Pick up the stitches all around the bottom of the hood and join together. Knit in the round for 6 inches. Weave in ends.
