My rescue cats, Luna and Cherry are my constant companions. They’re always nearby to give a nuzzle or a purr. They give me so much happiness, and I love to spoil them in return! I’m always making new things for them (like this Cat Grass Bed DIY) and I buy them good food with real ingredients like Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Longevity Chicken with Chickpeas & Salmon Recipe.
Healthy living is a priority in my house, so I always read the labels and ingredients. This applies to food, beauty and household products and even cat food! Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Longevity Chicken with Chickpeas & Salmon Recipe contains Real U.S. farm-raised chicken as the #1 ingredient, plus real salmon. The recipe is crafted with a real superfood blend for lifelong nutrition with a focus on your cat’s heart, mind and body.
I feed my cats both dry and wet food. Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Purrfect Entrees™ Sea-Sational Florentine™ Recipe is the perfect companion to the Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Longevity. My girls loved it, especially the sauces! It’s made with real wild-caught salmon and veggies in a culinary sauce.
All Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Purrfect Entrees are grain free with no ground corn, wheat, soy poultry by-product meals or fillers. There’s also no artificial flavors, colors or artificial preservatives.
After finding Cherry lying in one of my indoor planters, I figured it might be time to give my girls some greenery of her own! This Cat Grass Bed DIY can be used to hold artificial grass or you can grow real cat grass inside of it. The bed is constructed out of cedar and the modern design works with many decors.
Supplies for Cat Grass Bed DIY
(Box is approximately 16 x 16 inches)
Cedar deck boards (2, 8 feet long- 5 inches wide)
1 1/4 inch sheet rock screws
2 1/2 inch interior screws
Artificial grass or Coco liner, soil and cat grass seeds
Cut the cedar deck boards into the following lengths:
5 boards that measure 16 inches
2 boards that measure 17 1/2
4 boards that measure 16 inches long and 2 1/2 wide
To make the bottom of the bed, line up 3 of the 16 inch boards. Take the 2 1/2 inch pieces at line them up at the top and the bottom- 1 inch from the edge. These are the support braces.
Using the 1 1/2 screws, screw the 2 1/2 boards into the larger ones.
The next step is to add the legs. Take the other 2, 2 1/2 boards and line them up at the top and the bottom.
Turn the bottom over, making sure the legs are properly lined up. Drill pilot holes when using the longer screws.
Screw the bottom of the bed to the legs using the 2 1/2 inch screws.
Screw the 4 sides together and screw through the bottom of the bed to secure (use 2 1/2 inch screws).
The the artificial grass to size. You can use heavy duty staples to ensure that it lays flat against the sides.
Or, you can use this Cat Grass Bed DIY as a traditional planter. Put a Coco liner on the bottom, then add soil and cat grass seeds.
I rescued Luna and Cherry from a local animal shelter when they were 6 weeks old. I’m so happy to be able to give them a forever home!
