I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday! I wanted to start a new tradition this year and buy matching Christmas pajamas for myself and Indigo. I waited too long and when I finally went to buy, all the sizes were sold out in every cute style! Every the DIY-er, I decided to make them instead! These matching family pajamas are an easy sewing project and perfect for the holidays!
This was my first time sewing pajamas and it was so easy! I used for mine. The fabric is snuggle flannel that I bought on sale at Joann’s. I fell in love with this reindeer and bear print. I like how it’s festive but it doesn’t scream “Christmas”- that way we can wear them all winter.
I cut Indigo’s pair in the size T2 (he’s 2 1/2 years old). They fit great, but if I had to make them over I would have added an inch to the sleeve length. For my pair, I cut the size 8 (it was the smallest size) The waist was big after I sewed the legs, but once I added the elastic it was fine. Next time I make these I’ll add an inch or so to the shirt hem. I like all my tops on the longer side.
I’m so glad I started this fun, little tradition! These two patterns are easy to follow (especially the kid’s version) and they’re a great project for beginners.
