Sephora Play October Review- Hits & Misses
The October Sephora Play box just arrived and it’s chocked with samples to make your skin glow!
If you’re unfamiliar with Sephora Play, it’s a monthly subscription box filled with samples. For $10, you receive 5 deluxe samples plus a fragrance sample every month packaged in a cute fabric bag.
Read below to see this month’s hits & misses!
Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops
Discovering great, new samples like this is the reason I signed up for the Sephora Play box. Honestly, I probably would have walked right by this in the store and brushed it off as unnecessary. However, this enhancer is great! You can blend a dot in with your foundation (a little goes a long way) and use it as a highlighter. It adds a beautiful, subtle glow to your skin. If you want more drama, you can apply more drops to your foundation.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Booster
This skin booster is suppose to be applied under primer. It’s suppose to “plump, smooth and hydrate your skin”. I tried it under my primer and I really didn’t notice that big of a difference. Another downfall? The full size bottle is rather small and it comes with a hefty price tag.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation
I’m already totally devoted to this foundation! I’ve been using it for a few years now and I’ve yet to find anything that tops it. It provides good coverage without feeling heavy on your skin. It also blends in with your skin so well. You never get that “cakey, makeup look” with this foundation.
Becca First Light Priming Filter
I was taken aback by the lilac color and I wondered if this cream would give my skin a weird purple tint. It didn’t! It gives your skin a subtle, pretty glow. The description says it can be used under foundation or on top as a highlighter.
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
I have dry skin (especially this time of year) so I usually avoid powder. Since this sample was included I figured I’d give it a try. As I suspected, it was way too drying on my cheeks and chin. However, it worked well on my nose. I think this is a case of “great product, wrong skin type”. The Sephora reviews are fantastic, so if you have combo/oily skin you might want to try this.
Chanel Gabrielle Perfume
First I’ve got to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of Chanel fragrances. Most of the ones I’ve tried were too heavy for my taste. I was pleasantly surprised with Gabrielle. It’s a light floral that smells fresh and clean (Jasmine and Orange Blossom are some of the key notes).
