Hey guys! I hope you all had a great weekend! I've been on a total watermelon kick lately and I wanted to share this new Watermelon Hat Knitting Pattern with you. This Watermelon hat is perfect for summer babies.
I kept the design a basic beanie which makes this a fast knit. The "seeds" are stitched on after the hat is complete. I hope you guys like the pattern- happy knitting!
Watermelon Hat Knitting Pattern
Size: 0-6 months
Cast on 64 sts. with the green yarn. Join together in the round and place a marker. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 1 inch. Switch to white yarn and work in K2, P2 ribbing for 3 rows. Switch to red yarn and knit in the round until piece measures 5 inches from the cast on edge.
Round 1: Knit 4, Knit 2 together, repeat across round
Round 2: Knit 3, Knit 2 together, repeat across round
Round 3: Knit 2, Knit 2 together, repeat across round
Round 4: Knit 1, Knit 2 together, repeat across round
Round 5: Knit 2 together across round (switch to double point needles when needed)
Keep knitting 2 sts. together until you are left with a handful of stitches. Break yarn, pull through remaining stitches and pull to tighten. Weave in ends.
Finishing- Stitch on the "seeds" using a yarn needle
