I'm pretty obsessed with plants and my collection is constantly growing (I can't walk by a rack of plants for sale without taking a peek). I wanted to make a fun planter that screams "summer!" Nothing says summer like a big slice of watermelon! This Watermelon Slice Planter is easy to make with some basic tools.
I found these large, pine project rounds in the hobby section of Lowe's for under $5. On the interior of the planter is a base with 2 sides that holds a flower pot. I'm really happy with the way this turned out! I think it adds instant charm to any porch. Plus, since they're so inexpensive to make you could made a variety- like orange, lime or lemon slices.
Supplies:
Project round
Acrylic paint & paintbrush
Scrap wood
2 ½ inch interior screws
Screw through the outside of the slice to attach the plant stand. Screw both sides to each slice.
Paint each side of the planter and don't forget the top and sides of the plant stand.

Love the planter. Pinned it!
